Reflection before the trip

HELLO! Jolie here! Updating the blog on my reflection before the cambodia trip. Well, it's approximately 5 hours more to meet the rest of my fellow friends and teachers @ Changi airport for check-in to cambodia! I'm feeling quite sad cause tiff's not going for the trip, however it will still be an experience for me..and i'm excited as well. (:

And so.. before the cambodia trip.. some questions which i would need to reflect on would be:

1. Going to Cambodia, and on a personal level, what do you hope to achieve? (Give at least three different objectives)

This trip is my very 1st trip which i'm going not for holidays but for a meaningful reason to help the people who is in need. I would want to understand more about the Cambodia's culture, bring joy to the children/people over there. Knowing that the living conditions in Cambodia would be quite tough, i would like to take this opportunity to challenge myself and to be more tolerant. Also, i would hope to be a more independent, appreciative; not taking things for granted and also to widen my perspective towards life.

2. On my own, have I made a concerted effort to find out more about Cambodia? Its geography, history, culture, politics, economy? What can I do about it?

Haha. Honestly, i didn't really do much effort in knowing more about Cambodia. From what i've known about Cambodia in a nut shell would be: In terms of politics and economy, the country is quite corrupted, there's a drastic gap between the poor and the rich people. As for culture, most people over there are buddhist? IF i remembered correctly. haha.. Well.. guess i would be able to know and understand more about Cambodia after this trip. (:

3. What are your fears going on this trip? Elaborate

HAHA. this is a good question. I've got lots of fears regarding this trip.... I really hope that there would be NO insects at all but it would be impossible ): I'm so afraid of especially the toilet conditions and the bunk beds. I hope that the toilet would'nt be filled with those flying insects and there would be sufficient water for us to bath in!! Also, the bed conditions..... no bed bugs and creeeppyy crawleys please ):!! Mosquitos.. yes... being reminded lots of times by Mr.Cho, Ms Lai and my aunt, i'm quite prepared and expected for the worse.. Hope the army repellent is STRONG enough to repel them all away!!! HAHA. and reading from Jingling's entry... I'M ALSO AFRAID OF DOGS.. ESPECIALLY BIG STRAY DOGS.. woah.. if really got.. we both die already omg!! :S

Yeap.. so this is the end of the reflection entry. A few more hours to this cambodia trip. Hope we can make this trip a memorable, meaningful and fun one! Bon Voyage everyone! :)

Loves, Jolie :D
